ASH WILLIAMS | SHADE

MANDATORY

💀 SHADOWY COMPLEXION: A shadow-like complexion that ranges from dark grey to black. The Shade's default form is a shadowy being with glowing eyes that can pass through walls and other solid objects, but still cause harm to living beings. It can vary in shape and size (but no larger than 7' tall). They can only take a solid human form resembling their old body with concentration.

💀 SHAPESHIFTING: All features will retain their shadow-like appearance and be purely aesthetic. This includes the ability to stretch and shrink within realistic boundaries (no more than 3 feet). Maintaining these features takes concentration and the Shade will default back to their regular shadow form if concentration is broken.

💀 SHADOWY AURA + GLOWING WHITE EYES: Self-explanatory.

💀 TELEKINETIC ABILITY: Shades can move objects with their minds. The heavier the object, the more exhausting it will be.

💀 POSSESSION: The ability to possess others. Unlike Demons, Shades can't take full control of a possessed person, so they will remain aware of their surroundings even as their body moves against their will. This ability can be used for a maximum of one hour, and only once per day.

💀 LIGHT WEAKNESS: Direct exposure to sunlight can cause a Shade to slowly diminish in size until it disappears, so Shades prefer to come out at night or stay in the shadows.

💀 IMPROVED NIGHT VISION: Self-explanatory.

💀 HUNGER (SOULS): The need to feed on human souls. The Shade accomplishes this by reaching into a person and tearing their soul out. Although the human's body remains alive after the spell is complete, they will essentially be in a coma. If they don't feed for an extended amount of time, they will begin to go mad and lose their self-control until they can feed again.

💀 SHARP TEETH + CLAWS: Self-explanatory.

💀 ELECTRONICS DISRUPTION: The ability to disrupt electronics at will and cause them to malfunction or short circuit.

💀 LEVITATION: The ability to levitate up to twice their weight.

💀 INVISIBILITY: Ash can become invisible for short periods of time. This is everyone's worst nightmare.

Fourth God, Tier I

• Ash's right arm can interface with electronic/mechanical objects. The object cannot weigh more than ten pounds (eg: it must be able to be carried by an average human). The object's functionality is limited to its original functions--for example, a chainsaw will only be able to saw, and a toaster will only be able to toast bread. The unfortunate part is that this object remains solid even when he's invisible or intangible, so he'll have to leave it behind if he tries to pass through any walls.
  
• Ash's body, regardless of what form he takes, will have scanlines that looks similar to what might be present on an old CRT screen, with mild chromatic aberration on the edges.

Fourth God, Tier II

• Ash now has a clunky, cybernetic right hand in his fog form that can be dismissed and summoned at will with a static-y effect. This can be used to interface with small objects, as outlined in his tier one spell description.
  
• If Ash makes physical contact with someone, he can try to tap into their mind and access their memories. Ash can then glimpse a moment of pure terror/fear in that character's life, causing a character to relive this horrifying memory (of the other player's choice). Memories may be hazy and patchy, but the important part is that the person will feel as though they're back at that point in time. Ash does not get to choose which memory he sees. The spell isn't perfect, of course. Monsters can try to resist its effect, and the spell can even backfire occasionally, allowing monsters a glimpse into Ash's own memories and fears. Ash can only use this ability once a day.
  

Fourth God, Tier III

• Once per day, Ash can regenerate a human body for himself, similar to the Mana reward "Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day." This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form. The body acts like a protective shell or decoy, puppeted by the shade within. If Ash is killed in human form (or if he switches back to being a monster), the human body will collapse onto the ground and expel Ash in his shade form, like a pilot being ejected from a plane. If he is forced out of his human form by being "killed", he will emerge in a weakened state and have to skitter away to lick his wounds. The body tastes like literal ash, and is not nutritious in the slightest--so no exploiting this for Unlimited Edible Corpses.
